Day 23 Reading: Genesis 46-47, Matthew 15, Psalm 19 and Proverb 4:14-19 
Numbers are important in Scripture. They are not magical, but they are informative and symbolic many times. If six is the number of ‘man’, the best Jacob has put together by the end of his life was a couple sixes. But if seven is the number of perfection and completion, God has done a miraculous work in putting together a ‘perfect’ family in the midst of famine, jealousy, betrayal, favoritism, and lies. Aren’t you glad God is not finished with you yet?
"All the persons belonging to Jacob who came into Egypt, who were his own descendants, not including Jacob's sons' wives, were sixty-six persons in all. And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two. All the persons of the house of Jacob who came into Egypt were seventy." – Genesis 46:26-27 (English Standard Version)
"Dear Lord, my life is in your hands. If you can change a messed up family like Jacob’s, I trust my own to your hands. I believe you have a plan for us and trust you to make it happen. Pour out your blessings unto our household. We want to be witnesses of your mighty sovereignty. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
