Day 25 Reading: Exodus 1, Matthew 16:13-28, Psalm 21 and Proverb 5:1-6 
Egypt was not the ‘promised land.’ Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob’s descendants had been there for 400 years, but it was not where God had planned for them. They had become too prosperous and numerous for their own good. Even when they got away, they longed for the ‘leeks and garlics of Egypt.’ Sometimes in order for God to get us where we belong, he has to make where we are uncomfortable. He did it for the Israelites … he may be doing it for you.
"and made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and brick, and in all kinds of work in the field. In all their work they ruthlessly made them work as slaves." – Exodus 1:14 (English Standard Version)
"Dear Lord, are you using the circumstances of today to get me moving in a certain direction? Where do you want me and what do you want me to do? My heart is open to you today. I want to submit to your will in all circumstances. Please help me seek your face and see you through eyes of faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
