Day 27 Reading: Exodus 4-5, Matthew 18, Psalm 22:19-31 and Proverb 5:15-21 
Once again the upside down, backwards, unexpected world of God’s kingdom is in full view when the disciples ask our Lord about who is greatest. Imagine their surprise – and ours! – when he called an ordinary young child forward as ‘Exhibit A’. Humility, teachability, passion, trust, enthusiasm, and whatever else goes into childlikeness marks one as great in the kingdom. What about you and me?

"Dear Lord, so often we like being sophisticated, knowledgeable, and image-managed. It is sometimes a challenge to keep things pure and simple. Please teach us how to be humble like a child. Help us to be genuine, authentic, down-to-earth in living out the Kingdom value. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
