Day 173 Bible Reading: 2 Kings 3-4, Acts 15:1-21, Psalm 140 and Proverb 17:22 
Everyday we are to pray to God for protection against wicked people around us. These persons would scheme us into stumbling and cause us to destroy our testimony. They would hurl hurting words against us that pierce the heart and weigh the soul. Their tongues are liken to a snake symbolising, scheming and venomous. The most dangerous weapon a person has is an evil tongue. Just as poison is in the bite of the serpent, there is also poison coming from the tongue of an evil person. It is from this poison that we have to be careful, and not allow it to spread just as in a snake bite. Immediately “take every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5) and release forgiveness leaving justice to God.

"Heavenly Father, we can find comfort knowing that You personally will protect us like a Father protects His son and eventually will bring justice. Let the path of our daily walk be paved with thanksgiving and Your Presence, scattering the vipers along the way. Thank you Lord, In Jesus’ name, Amen."
