Which one is blessed? A wealthy person in high position can easily attract a swarm of followers and hangers-on for whom social advancement and material gains form the basis of their association. However, a ‘poor man’ with no such trappings in life will have the fortune of being deserted by his so-called ‘friends’, and thus can live at ease.

"Lord, please give me a discerning spirit so I will avoid the bad relationships that are built on impure motives and devious minds. Let me spend time and form relationships with people to whom I can be a blessing and they to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
