Day 2
Look at the verb tense of the new life Paul is talking about. He says that the “old has passed away.” We are born with things that are opposite of Jesus, things that are part of our sinful nature. When we say yes to Jesus, the old life no longer define us. They are gone!
The new life is now displayed in us. Our new life is something that happened when we have become “in Christ.” The key word: IN. We are not simply bringing Jesus into our world. We are jumping into His Kingdom. Jesus came into our world so that we can come into His Kingdom. He was born of a woman so that we can be born of God.
Which best describes your relationship with Jesus: Him in your world or you in His? Life in Christ is life in the Kingdom. This is heaven on earth!
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
