Day 36
Faithfulness hinges upon what we value as important combined with commitment. Humans have a powerful tendency to be faithful to what they think is truly important. Today we want to focus on faithfulness in the small or little things. Faithfulness in little things is a big thing to God.
A lot depends on the small things. A person’s attention is usually taken up by bigger, more noticeable things. People do not like turning their attention on small things. However, little things have the potential to grow into something big only if you know how to care for it. In fact, it takes a big person to be willing to do the small thing.
Do you know how to care for the little things? Do you look carefully after the little things in life? Every small thing has potential for greatness. Nobody is born big. God does not give anybody a lot straight away. Why? He wants to test each one of us to see if we can be faithful — faithful even in the smallest things.
God rewards not success but faithfulness. What we need to ask is not how successful you are, but how faithful you are?
His master said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” - Matthew 25:21 (ESV)
"Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I have put myself first and set others beneath me. Holy Spirit, teach me how to treat others with gentleness and extend my hand to those who have fallen, helping them rather than sitting in judgement over them. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!"
