Day 289 Bible Reading: Jeremiah 28-29, 1 Timothy 1, Psalm 86 and Proverbs 25:17
To be distressed is to be in extreme anxiety, sorrow, or pain. When you are at your lowest point who will you call out to? When money, possessions, family, friends cannot answer who will you call out to? And if you call to them will they be able to save you from your distress? Here the psalm writes with the confidence that in our extreme sorrow or pain, we can call out to God and he will answer.
"In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me." – Psalm 86:7 (English Standard Version)
"Father, give me the confidence to know that when everything around me seems hopeless and I call to you, you will answer me. Your love is everlasting toward me. Amen."
