Day 39 Reading: Exodus 28, Matthew 25:31-46, Psalm 31:9-18 and Proverb 8:12-13 
At the start of any new beginning we're faced with a plethora of new planning, scheduling devices to organize and prioritize our lives. In the process there's a tendency to believe we can control time and its outcomes. And while planning has its advantages, the psalmist reminds us that ultimately, our times are really in the Lord's hands. What a relief!
"My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors! Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love!" – Psalm 31:15-16 (English Standard Version)
"Lord and Father, give me new awareness today of your timing. Help me to make my schedule firm enough that I get the necessary things done, but soft enough that I recognize your interventions as part of a much broader plan for me. I humbly declare that my times are firmly in your hands. Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."
