Day 61 Bible Reading: Leviticus 26-27, Mark 10:32-52, Psalm 45 and Proverb 10:22
Jesus knew the path that was ahead of him, yet he did not stray from the path. He was mocked, spat upon, flogged, and finally killed. This was the path that Jesus went through in order for salvation to become available to all. Up to this point, the story of Jesus would sound like defeat, yet something incredible will happen. He Will Rise! That is the hope we have in God, that when things could look at their worst, there we will rise as well.
"See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise." – Mark 10:33-34 (English Standard Version)
"Father, life has crushed me and rendered me defeated. Others have hurt me and driven me to my breaking point. I see hope in Christ, who endured pain to the point of death. But the final word belongs to you. You declared him risen and he rose again. Help me rise again through the pain and disappointments of life, through the power of your Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, Amen."
