Day 128 Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3-4, John 5:30-47, Psalm 106:15-25 and Proverb 14:30-31 
Imagine what it would be like for your words to be so powerful and important that none would be wasted. Samuel spoke for God. As a prophet, his words counted. He didn’t have to brag about it or take out ads in the newspaper. People recognised it in him and ‘attested’ it to be true. His reputation spread from one end of Israel to the other. Are you saying anything to edify one another? Are you saying anything worthwhile as son or daughter of God for our Heavenly Father today?

"Dear Lord, so often people are not careful with what they say. Sometimes we spend energy on teasing one another, making jokes, or making everything sound funny. Words can hurt, discourage, or even destroy. Take our tongue, Lord, teach us to say things that are edifying, constructive, and helpful to people. May the words from our mouth be pleasing to you as we are your son and daughter. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
