Day 137 Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 20-21, John 9, Psalm 113-114 and Proverb 15:15-17 
Comparing and contrasting is a reading skill that brings out meaning for greater understanding. Today’s passage makes a comparison telling us a little of life’s treasure and the fear of the Lord is different than great treasure with the trouble it brings. If we believe that the fear of God is respecting Him, obeying Him, submitting to His discipline, and worshipping Him in awe, then we experience a better life. From Solomon’s experience, he realized that it was all vanity. Read Ecclesiastes 12:13 and find his conclusion to the comparison. What Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 “seek first his kingdom of God and his righteousness, all these things will be added to you”. His provision is always sufficient to you as Jesus knows all your needs.
