Day 194 Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 15-16, Romans 1:18-32, Psalm 10:1-15 and Proverb 19:6-7 Link opens new window

Having critical and prideful attitudes are detrimental to relationships. And the obsession with appearance and putting oneself as the centre of attention exacerbates the problems. The princess in today’s Scripture is a mirror showing us that arrogance can cause us to miss Jesus and the Kingdom of God. Luke 17:20-21, Jesus answered to Pharisees’ question of when the kingdom of God would come, the Kingdom of God is in your midst. Jesus was surely not saying that the kingdom of God resided within the Pharisees’ hearts. The Pharisees opposed Jesus and had no relationship with God. Jesus denounced them as “whitewashed tombs” and “hypocrites” (Matthew 23:27). This is a reason they missed Jesus.

"And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart." – 1 Chronicles 15:29 (English Standard Version)

"Jesus Lord, thank you for your love and call us your friend. Lord, helps us to have the right attitude come before you, honor and worship you like a king. You rule our life. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
