Day 219 Bible Reading: Ezra 5-6, 1 Corinthians 3, Psalm 29 and Proverb 20:26-27
In another metaphor, Paul reminds us that as believers we are living, breathing, moving-around-town temples in which God resides. John tells us we abide in Him and He in us (John 15:1-9). If we actually believed this in a dynamic way, how would it affect how we treat our bodies? I believe purity, cleanliness, integrity, proper diet and exercise would take on a whole new dimension.
"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?" – 1 Corinthians 3:16 (English Standard Version)
"Lord in Heaven, who am I that you choose to dwell in me? It seems so remarkable that this body I see in the mirror is somehow your temple! Thank you for the privilege; help me to clean house. Discipline and make me a showcase of your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
