Day 248 Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 1-4, 2 Corinthians 8:1-15, Psalm 49 and Proverbs 22:20-21 
Have you noticed that those who can give are likely to be the ones who do not give? And those who have their problems and concerns are the most generous? When Paul was writing to the Corinthians, he was writing to a wealthy city. But the believers Paul used as an example in giving were facing tough times in much smaller, struggling towns.
Nevertheless, they had already taken up an offering for churches in need. How do you respond when God asks you to give? Do you give from a heart that all belongs to you, or all belongs to God? We have nothing to offer God because all belong to Him; we need to obey to let God reallocate his possession to further His kingdom.
"For in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part." - 2 Corinthians 8:2 (ESV)
"Dear Lord, I admit I sometimes would instead hold on to what you're asking me to give away. You have blessed me with abundance. I want to be generous to bringing your possession to you to bless others. Show me how best to bring your blessing with those around me. Help me to understand what it means to belong to you, and I have nothing, I could not give anything to heaven. Help me not to hold back. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
