Day 264 Bible Reading: Isaiah 37-38, Galatians 6, Psalm 65 and Proverbs 23:24 Link opens new window

The picture Paul gives us here is someone who has tripped along the road; his/her foot hit a stone or a hole and smashed face-first in the dirt. Paul is not talking about someone who takes a risk by walking down the middle of the street or walking on a tight rope with their eyes covered. But instead, he is showing us that since we all need forgiveness at some time or another, restoration should be our first objective.

"Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted." - Galatians 6:1 (ESV)

"Father God, forgive me for being so quick to judge others, and thus slow to judge my actions. Time after time, you've reminded us how easy it is to lose our focus on you and fall into sin. Help me to be a person of forgiveness and encouragement; someone is known for restoration and peacemaking. And protect me from yielding to temptation today. In Jesus' name, Amen."
