Day 291 Bible Reading: Jeremiah 32, 1 Timothy 3, Psalm 88 and Proverbs 25:20-22 
If someone is hungry or thirsty, it means they are lacking, and they are empty, they are in need. Following Christ challenges us to our human core. How would you respond to your enemy? To someone who has hurt you? Yet we are called to meet their needs. Jesus offered a prayer of forgiveness while his enemies tortured him and watched him die. His example is one we must follow.
"If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink." – Proverbs 25:21 (English Standard Version)
"Father, you do not say that it will be easy to love our enemies. You say to love them. We cannot love them on our strength, so you empower us with your love, to love as you have loved us. Even when my enemy is in need, may I respond in obedience to love and serve them. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen."
