Day 308 Bible Reading: Ezekiel 10-11, Hebrews 6, Psalm 105:16-36 and Proverbs 27:1-2 
The Bible often uses the illustration of land and crops. Land that produces a good crop is blessed while land that only produces thorns and thistles is the harvest only to be burnt. We, in turn, are called to provide good crop and not thorns and thistles, which is the excellent crop of faithfulness to Christ, godly character, help and support for others. A self-centered, proud, and godless life bears only thorns and thistles, and its destiny is to be burnt. Let us remember that our fruit knows us and as James points out in his letter. The Christian faith is all about relationship with Jesus. Jesus said that "I am the vine and you are the branches." What kind of fruit do you produce?
"For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned." – Hebrews 6:7-8 (English Standard Version)
"Lord God, thank you that you want us to bear a good crop, good fruit. Let us through the power of your Spirit and your word live lives pleasing to you, which is full of good fruit. Let us keep away from leading self-centered, self-centered lives, which only bear thorns and thistles that have no value but are to be burnt. In Jesus' name, Amen."
