2019-12-24 (TUE) Why Celebrate?

Day 358 Bible Reading: Zechariah 6-7, Revelation 15, Psalm 143 and Proverbs 30:21-23 Link opens new window

On nights like Christmas Eve, we celebrate the spiritual significance of the birth of Christ, who brought Heaven on earth. He gave his spirit in us. We celebrate because we are in his family. We celebrate because we have a relationship with God through Christ Jesus. We are on earth as it is in Heaven. We celebrate because we have new hope, and we know Jesus will come again one today.

"And when you eat and when you drink, do you not eat for yourselves and drink for yourselves?" – Zechariah 7:6 (English Standard Version)

"Lord, forgive me when in my merry-making, I have reduced such occasions to trivial partying. On nights of celebration – let me show my gratitude for Christ's birth so I may honestly share in the joy, peace, and hope that comes from You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
