Reflection
The world often defines freedom as doing whatever we want, without limits or restraint. Yet Jesus teaches that true freedom is not found in independence, but in abiding in Him. He reminds believers that freedom grows as His truth shapes how we live.
We may be saved by grace, yet still live bound by fear, habits, or lies. Scripture teaches that we become servants of whatever we obey. When we follow our own desires apart from God, we may feel free but remain inwardly enslaved. Obedience to Christ, however, leads to lasting freedom.
Like the Israelites who left Egypt yet carried slavery in their mindsets, many believers today struggle to live freely. Freedom is built on truth, not feelings. Jesus, who is Truth, not only sets us free but keeps us free as we abide in His word.
True freedom is not self-rule, but life fully restored in Christ.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, teach us to abide in Your truth and walk in obedience. Set us free indeed. Amen.
