Reflection
A river that breaks through a levee is free. But that freedom is not to flood the land. Instead, it flows to bring water to dry fields, so crops can grow and people can flourish.
Christian freedom is the same. God has set you free from sin but do not use your freedom to be selfish or to follow wrong desires. Some think freedom means doing whatever they want, whenever they want. But that kind of freedom only causes harm, just like a flood.
Use your freedom to love and serve others. True freedom is not doing whatever you want. True freedom is doing what God wants, loving your neighbour as yourself. This can be hard, but love is a choice we make each day. Let your freedom be like a river of kindness that brings life to everyone around you.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for setting me free. Help me not to use my freedom for selfish desires. Let my life be like a river that brings life to dry places. Teach me to love others as You love me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
