Reflection
When I was a young Christian, I often compared myself with others serving in the same ministry. I became jealous of those who seemed more blessed than I was. I remember a sister who came to Christ and saw her family saved within a few months. Most of my own remained unsaved despite my years of faithfully serving God.
That was the orphan mindset at work: I believed that the more I served God, the more He would favour me. I failed to understand that God works in each person according to His perfect timing. He loves each of us the same.
Over time, the Holy Spirit revealed more of the Father’s heart to me. As I grew in assurance as a child of God, I have greater security and maturity in His love. One evidence of this is that my love for my family has deepened. Through the years, my parents and most of my siblings have come to believe in Jesus. Praise God!
Prayer
Father, thank You for reminding me that I am Your beloved child. Like the prodigal son, You have given me the honour of sonship—not because I deserve it, but because You love me. Amen.
