Reflection
David pleaded with God to search him and know his heart, try him and know his thoughts, for he desired solely to follow God’s way. And in 2 Corinthians 13:5, Paul likewise urged the Corinthians to examine themselves to see whether they were in the faith.
When was the last time we quieted our hearts to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us? Are we living out an active faith in love? Do we allow external circumstances to rob us of the peace that Jesus promises to us? Do we pursue righteousness with daily victory led by the Spirit?
Let’s not allow the busyness of our lives to rob us from living out this new creation that comes through Jesus, who lives in us! Let’s examine ourselves and ask God to search our hearts always!
Prayer
Lord Jesus, search my heart, guard it, and grow it each day to be more like You, and for Your glory and Yours alone! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
