He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.Luke 1: 32-33 (ESV)
When I was a little boy, there was a popular children game involving kids queuing up for continuous rounds of scissors-paper-stone. The winner of each round would either reign as the king or maintain his/her kingship. Kids enjoyed their moment of reigning.
The scriptures tell us that Jesus will reign on earth forever. The question is whether He is reigning already in our daily lives. Or are we playing scissors-paper-stone with Him regarding our daily decisions? Let Jesus reign.
Abba Father, I thank You that the kingdom of the world will become the Kingdom of Christ, and He will reign forever and ever. Forgive me for those instances when I resisted the reign of Jesus in my daily choices when I yielded to my selfish desires. Empower me to let Jesus have the final word on all my decision making. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
