When I was young, my older cousin used to engage me in a Nintendo game where we helped the protagonist to fight through obstacles, reach the palace and rescue the princess. Overwhelmed by the confrontations, I would often freak out and drop my controller. Thank God that it was just a game! When oppositions, tough choices or even attacks are being thrown at us in life, how do we react to them? Do we check if it is a good fight? Do we remember our calling on earth? And do we have the courage to witness the truth and bring the gospel to the captives?
Father God, help us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and be alert to our call as witnesses of Jesus on earth. Help us to have the boldness, patience and discernment to fight for what is eternal and what would advance Your Kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
