Wherever they went with Jesus, the disciples had witnessed supernatural accounts of His miracles. But the day of the Crucifixion brought despair and disillusionment among them.
They could not comprehend the turn of events. Their eyes were blinded from the Truth, overwhelmed by the circumstances around them. Jesus had asked the disciples who He was. The Holy Spirit empowered Peter to release the truth of Christ’s identity.
We encounter moments of fear and defeat as well. Jesus asks us the same question: who do you say I am?
Loving Father, unveil our eyes to always recognise how big You are in the midst of challenges. Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. With You, all things are possible. May we live each day victoriously knowing truly You have overcome it all. In Jesus' name. Amen.
