Even the youths shall faint and be weary. And the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.Isaiah 40:30-31 (ESV)
Even youths run out of energy and stumble. Human life is frail and transitory but those who wait on the Lord, in confident expectant faith believing His promises and are ready to step out when God begins to move, will do so with the spiritual sight, energy and swiftness of an eagle – he will soar high with minimal effort possessing eagle-like precision and flight power. Notice that this verse also makes reference to running, followed by walking, implying a long journey. As the eagle's strength is renewed, so shall we outlast every trial and challenge in life when we learn to wait on Him.
Heavenly Father. we wait on You because You are God and our present help in time of need. Teach us to trust in Your perfect timing and sovereignty. Use our waiting to reveal Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
