Strange that a good and wise man in the Book of Proverbs should ask us to imitate such voracious animals like locusts! But mind you, he invites us to imitate their good qualities only. They are orderly and united. There is no strife in their camp; they fight desperately, but they do not fight among themselves. How quietly do these small, clever creatures preach to us about orderliness and union! Locusts teach us there is power in numbers and unity. The wisdom to be learned is a house divided against itself will not stand.
Father, as You have created the locust to reflect Biblical principles of strength in unity and numbers, help us to be a united church upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, which the forces of hell cannot prevail. May You be glorified as we obey Your will and do Your Kingdom work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
