Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.Proverbs 6:6 (ESV)
Sluggard describes a lazy person who neglects tasks that he should do, does not finish what he has started and procrastinates. Spiritual laziness is even more tempting than physical laziness. God calls us to search for His purposes for us with great passion and enthusiasm. We must be diligent like the ant. Even though they are small yet they will travel over flints and stones, climb trees in search for food and help one another in carrying their burdens. We must learn from it, be willing to walk the extra mile for the Lord.
Father God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Help me to consider the ant’s teamwork when helping one another and carrying each other’s burdens, and be wise but not a sluggard. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
