Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV)
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)
Sometimes it's easy for us to lose sight of the purpose of our work. It is even easier to lose sight of the purpose in the mundane; our role as a spouse, parent, sibling, child, friend. The Lord calls us to work at whatever we do with all our hearts and He is not just referring to our jobs. We should be encouraged to reflect on every “hat” that we wear daily and see which areas do not bring glory to the Lord.
Father, as I go about my daily roles and responsibility, whether in word or deed, I pray that I will do it with a sincere heart and to the best of my ability. I pray that my actions will bring You praise and glory. Give me the ears to hear and heart to receive Your convictions. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
