Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!Proverbs 6:6 (NIV)
The species of ants referred to in Proverbs 6:6 collects grains for food and they will do it diligently. They bite off the ends of the grains to prevent it from germinating and store them for future use. As the army of ants work together carrying food, you may observe that some are carrying loads that are heavier than their body weight. They work diligently and tirelessly as a colony, never complaining but always mindful of a common goal. Proverbs 6:6-8 reminds us to do the tasks that God had placed in our hands, be it at work, at home or in church.
Dear heavenly Father, help us become aware of the needs around us and step forward and avail ourselves. Help us not be a spectator but be actively bringing the Good News to the pre-believers, be it in our workplace, family or church. Most of all, help us to stand in the gap and pray for Hong Kong – that Your will prevail and be Lord of this land. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
