A deer pants when it is overheated after a chase under the sun. Panting for water puts a pause to a string of actions, calms the bubbling heart and allows it to catch its breath again. It refreshes the deer, revitalises its entire being.
Heavenly Father, our souls long for You. In pressing times like this, we sometimes feel as if we’re having a heatstroke—nausea, racing hearts and rapid breathing...but indeed it is in such times that our souls long all the more for You. We need You Jesus. We praise Your name alone. Refresh us. Renew us. Revive us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
