This Bible verse reminds me of a worship song I used to sing when I first became a Christian. It has this verse as its opening lyrics. God speaks in a pictorial language throughout the Bible, and just as a beautiful deer needs water, we need God’s presence and peace in our lives too. Circumstances seem to hit rock bottom in the world today, and we don’t know what to expect. But focus on Jesus – He will help us overcome all difficulties and cross all barriers. He came to help and to save.
Dear God, You are majestic and glorious and our Saviour. We want to soak in Your sweet presence everyday, filled with Your everlasting streams of water, to quench our thirst and satisfy our needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
