After Typhoon Mangkhut hit HK in 2018, I saw giant trees toppled and massive branches snapped. After a year, trees that had been pruned and healed grew more vigorously and blossomed. Those that were not pruned, slowly died as the branches rotted away to the tree trunk. This reminded me of how we should delight in pruning that heals, as it helps us to abide ever closer to God.
Father in Heaven, open our spiritual eyes to see what we have been saying and doing wrong. I pray that You prune us and heal our wounds so that we will not be held back and that we may grow upwards, ever closer to You. Help us abide in You so that we may dwell in Your kingdom here on earth. In Jesus' name. Amen.
