For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith working (energeo in Greek) through love.Galatians 5:6 (NIV)
Our faith in a supernatural God is to be accompanied by supernatural actions - Christ has said…greater works shall we do when He leaves us to be with the Father (John 14:12)
Energeo translates as made effective or made operative. Faith, to be effective, has to be exercised through the medium of love. We are to know we are deeply loved by Him and be walking in love towards others. Serving God by helping others without leading a lifestyle of love leads to mere works and legalism. When we are motivated by and operating in His love, we have assurance that our faith, to see God do the impossible, will be backed up by effective works.
Father, thank You for Your love towards us. May we operate in the overflow of Your love so that we may be effective vessels for Your supernatural works. In Jesus' name, Amen.
