If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Proverb 3:24 (ESV)

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.

Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

Day 12 - Good Sleep

A long sleep doesn't define good rest. Likewise, some people sleep only a few hours and are recharged and reenergised. The secret seems to be what your confidence is in, how you treat your worries, and where you put your trust, so that you may find good and peaceful rest. It is often easier said than done, but the Bible encompasses so much wisdom for us to tackle our daily problems when our faith rests in Jesus and not ourselves.

Prayer

Lord, help us "not be anxious in all things, but in every situation, through prayers and petitions with thanksgiving, present our request to God.” For the Lord is our builder, "anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His." It's a blessing to enjoy God's rest so that our sleep is sweet, knowing that He is our Helper and our Refuge. In Jesus' name, Amen.
