I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2 (ESV)

Day 15 - The Gift of Sleep

Meeting my 9-month old grand-niece Harriett was a treat! Her worry-free sleep impressed me as she wholly trusted her parents for shelter and protection. Whenever we struggle with sleep, we can lift our eyes to the hills. Our help comes from our Heavenly Father, who created heaven and earth. It is comforting to fall asleep, cradled in the loving arms of our Father. While we are sleeping, He is awake, watchful, and protective. He never slumbers nor sleeps. He is always worthy of our trust, and we can hand over our worries, fears, and pain to our sovereign Father.

Prayer

Abba Father, thank you for being an able, awake, and loving God. Whether it is worrying about our finances, career, health, unrest in Hong Kong, parenting, or marriage, we can wait for you and find renewed strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
