Many years ago with my hand at the rudder of a sail boat at night and with only the stars to navigate, I pointed the boat towards a bright star hoping to get home. After a while I found out that I was slowly heading away from home and had to aim for another bright star. This is totally different to God’s star that always led the Magi to baby Jesus. Similarly we must guard our heart using God’s guiding compass, the Word, which never changes.
Father in heaven, I pray that You help us see our actions through Your spiritual eyes. Guard our hearts from worldly influence, and hide Your Word in our hearts, that we might not sin against You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
