King David has committed a terrible sin and this is his repentance prayer. When sin enters our life, it affects the centre of our life, and it touches our hearts. But God, the Creator, can create a clean heart for us. We also need the right spirit to sustain the soul.
God, in this new year, create in me a clean heart. Give me a healthy heart and a pure heart. A heart of compassion, obedience, and faithfulness. Grant me a steadfast spirit that I may be able to guard my heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
