We serve out of what we have received from God, the ultimate giver. We are not serving out of lack, but out of satisfaction in Christ. In my vision, I saw a group of excited kids waiting for a bucket of hot, sticky rice to be served. As they ate, they realised that the portion was endless and overflowing to the brim. After they were full, they brought the bucket to the village, knocked on every door and distributed the rice. God reminds me that He is the source of goodness and doing good is simply the overflow of His goodness in us.
Father God, we do good because You live in us. You are the source of goodness. Help us to be good stewards of Your grace, to do good to others so people may see the good deeds and glorify Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
