Evangelists are those with great charisma, speaking in front of a large audience? Right?
I am learning that evangelism is really more about listening than talking. Listening to the person I am sharing with and listening to God. Evangelists are ordinary Christians, showing love and acceptance to others whilst speaking naturally and passionately about the Jesus they know from the scriptures.
I am learning to listen attentively to what others are saying, explore what their needs are, pray to God for guidance and tailor my story to establish a connection. All this requires me to talk less, and listen more.
Lord, help me to listen more and speak less. Help to use me so that more people will come to know for themselves of Your love and grace, and to experience for themselves the transformation that You work in us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
