When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have just caught."John 21:9-10 (ESV)
Having toiled overnight without catch, Simon Peter followed Jesus’ prompting to cast the net on the RIGHT side. They caught and counted – 153 fish in the unbroken net. Although Jesus has prepared sufficient breakfast, He invited Simon to bring and enjoy the fruit of his labour. The scene echoed the miraculous feeding of the 5,000.
Then Jesus said “Follow me”, reaffirming Peter’s first calling “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Mark 1:16). A few days later, he preached under the Holy Spirit’s prompting, and about 3000 were added to the Church.
We are part of something immeasurably greater than us.
Lord, history’s sand clock is counting down. Help us to faithfully follow Your prompting, whether with the netting and/or internet ministries, to hasten regeneration of lives in Christ amidst the quickly degenerating society. In Jesus Glorious Name, Amen.
