My parents wanted a son. My brother was born after 4 girls. Through gender inequality, God gave me the compassion to help young girls sold for human slavery.
Liberty, equality and justice are in many nations’ constitution. Yet in this fallen world, we see racism, oppression and poverty.
In Genesis 18:20, God heard the cries of Sodom, for their sin is very grievous. The guilt of Sodom was she had pride, excess of food and prosperity but did not aid the poor and needy (Ezekiel 16:49).
Abba Father, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Release huge hearts of compassion and resources to help those suffering inequality and injustice. May we be good Samaritans to our neighbours. May we have the Father’s heart and spirit to bring good news to the poor, to comfort all who mourn, to declare liberty to the captives and to proclaim the year of God’s favour. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
