The apostle Paul used Jesus’ example as the only ground for his own life to be used as a model. He never lost sight how far God’s grace had brought him and who the source of his strength was. As spiritual fathers, we want to point the children God has entrusted us to Jesus and help them to fulfil God’s calling in their life. Spiritual fathers enjoy spending time with the children not out of obligation but because they are truly family. We must look to Jesus as our example of how to do things and turn to him for guidance and never let pride blind us from seeing our need for His counsel.
Father God, I ask that You empower the men of ICA to be spiritual fathers – fathers who speak words of faith, hope and love over the children to build them up in the love of God and with expectations of good. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
