When the word “church” comes up in conversation, the first thing we think of is a church building. We have this mindset that church is a place we go to on Sundays. It’s easy to lose sight of the fact that we aren’t just going to church; we are the church.
In the Bible, church is always a reference to people, not a place. The church is a body of believers that live out the Gospel in their words and actions. Jesus wants his followers to understand and focus on truth that are much deeper and more important than organisational structures.
Father God, thank You for Your household. Help us to build a deeper relationship with You and to our church family. I pray for the pre-believers that they may see the church as not just a building but to see You, Jesus, through us. In Your name I pray, Amen.
