Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ…rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man.Ephesians 6:5, 7 (ESV)
Sometimes we think we are the experts on certain things and can do better than our leaders. However, God commands us to obey our earthly leaders with respect and fear, and to serve whole-heartedly, as if we were serving the Lord, not people. If Jesus, as the Son of God, obeyed God and was baptised by John to fulfill the righteousness, then why can’t we do the will of God to obey our leaders?
Father, please forgive me for the times when I think I’m better than my leaders and when I disobey them, doing things my own way. God, may You help me humble myself to respect and obey my leaders in Your way. May I do everything for You Lord, and not for people. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
