…the water stopped flowing and piled up, far upstream at Adam…the flow downstream to the Dead Sea was completely cut off, and the people were able to cross over near Jericho.Joshua 3:16 (GNT)
The priests carrying the ark of covenant (which holds God’s presence) stood amidst Jordan River for God’s people to crossover to the promised land. The flood from upstream Adam, who represents us all born under sin and doomed to flow to downstream Dead Sea, was cut off! Jesus, being God’s presence, came and got baptised by John and dipped Himself into the river, so we may safely crossover the “deadly flow” to the promised land.
There, Jesus the Great High Priest identified Himself with mankind to fulfil all righteousness. Under the Lamb’s covering, He buried the torrential memorial of our sins and failures, and established the monumental victory and Righteousness on earth.
Jesus, You are Jehovah Tsidkenu, our Righteousness. Baptise us with Your Holy fire, cover and dress us with praises in time of distress. Bring revival to China. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
