“Silence is Golden" is a song that topped the UK Singles Chart in 1967. I wonder whether the song's popularity was because it somehow echoed men's inherent weakness to express themselves in words. Although men are creatures of action, the Bible makes it clear that a husband should honour his wife by giving verbal compliments to praise her. Silence is a marriage killer. Let husbands make it a habit to praise their wives for their good deeds and valuable contributions.
Abba Father, we thank You that marriage is a beautiful picture of how Christ loves His church. We pronounce Your blessings upon the wives in the family of God, and we ask for Your empowerment upon the husbands to honour and praise their spouses habitually. Sensitise their hearts to cherish their wives and grant husbands the gracious words to praise them. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
