My Grandma was adopted. She led a hard life and taught herself how to read from old newspapers. Together with my Grandpa, she modeled for us a strong faith and reliance on our Heavenly Father, through good times and bad. She sang her favourite hymns and they became our favourite hymns. She prayed daily. She did not leave us with financial resources, but left 3 generations of Christians behind, and these are growing. What an amazing legacy!
Let us celebrate the legacy left to us by our forefathers. Without them, there will be no us.
Father God, help us to honour, respect and be patient with the elders around us. Give us boldness to proclaim your might and power so that those who come after us will be blessed by our spiritual bequest, for many generations to come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
