My father was a fish seller who wakes up in the wee hours of the morning to collect fish and set up his stall. He doesn’t talk to his daughters much. My mother was an unhappy housewife. Since young, I yearned for love from my parents but becoming a Christian and then a mother, has helped me to honour, respect and love them, the way God wants me to, without undue expectations.
Dear God, I thank You for my parents, for their hard work in providing for our needs and for a safe home in which we could complete our studies. I pray for all of us to honour and obey our parents, to take care of them and love them and to have a grateful attitude for all the seen and unseen things that they have done in ensuring our well being. In Jesus' name, Amen.
